Lenten Bags

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of Lent. During Lent we remember how Jesus went into the desert and spent forty days fasting and praying. From Ash Wednesday, 10th February, and during the season of Lent, the children will take it in turns to bring home a ‘Lenten Bag’. The bag will contain a few items, including a prayer card and a small ‘holding cross’. When your child brings home the bag, we would be grateful if your child – and possibly yourselves – could spend a short period of time in prayer and reflection. Please then return the bag and its contents to school the next day.

If you do not wish to take part in this activity, please inform your child’s class teacher. Many thanks for your anticipated cooperation.
