Illness

It is sometimes difficult to know how long to keep a child off school for when they are ill. The school uses the ‘Guidance on infection controls in schools’ published by the Public Health Agency when advising on the period that parents should keep their child off school for when they are ill. The guidance provides advice for a variety of illnesses such as:

• Rashes and skin infections, such as chickenpox and measles

• Diarrhoea and vomiting

• Respiratory infections

• Other infections

We have provided a copy of the guidance with this newsletter to help support parents. Alternatively a link to the guidance can be found on our website in the ‘parents’ section.
